As we reflect on the past year, I want to take a moment—on behalf of the entire team at Matrix Fitness Canada—to say thank you.
Thank you to the facility owners, operators, community leaders, educators, hospitality partners, healthcare professionals, and our vendor network who show up every day to move this industry forward.
Thank you to the teams on the floor, behind the scenes, and at the front desk who create environments where people feel welcomed, supported, and capable of more than they thought possible.
The Canadian fitness industry has never been short on resilience. But what continues to stand out—year after year—is its sense of purpose.
Across the country, we’ve seen facilities invest not just in equipment or aesthetics, but in people and health.
We’ve seen organizations become community anchors, recreation centers become lifelines, universities and colleges becoming hubs for good health, and fitness professionals step confidently into their role as leaders.
In a time when the conversation around prevention, mental health, and active aging has never been more important, your work / our work matters deeply.
At Matrix, we’re proud to stand alongside you. To support your initiatives, efforts and investments of time, money and expertise.
Our role is not simply to manufacture, distribute and service equipment – it is to support the environments where positive lifestyle choices are made.
Whether that’s in the local gym, a small-town or big city community centre, a university campus, a condo, a hotel, a corporate wellness center, a hospital, a police station or a rehabilitation setting, we are committed to listening first, designing with intention, and delivering solutions that help you better serve the people who walk through your doors.
Canada is a unique market.
It demands durability, flexibility, innovation, and above all, partnership. We don’t take lightly the trust you place in us—and we remain committed to earning it every day through service, education, as well as short/medium and long-term thinking.
I also want to acknowledge the collective leadership within our industry.
You and your organization, as well as groups like Fitness Industry Council of Canada, canfitpro, educators, associations, and media voices such as FitBizWeekly play a critical role in strengthening our sector, amplifying best practices, and advocating for a healthier Canada.
Progress, not perfection, is what we tell beginners to fitness. And we have direct experience in knowing that progress happens when we work together.
As we look ahead to 2026, my optimism for this industry has never been stronger. The opportunity before us is not just growth, it’s impact.
Together, we can continue to elevate fitness as an essential service, a trusted profession, and a cornerstone of preventive health.
To our partners: thank you for your collaboration, your honesty, your integrity, and your commitment. We are grateful for the work you do, inspired by your leadership, and excited for what we will build together.
With respect and appreciation,
Happy Holidays.
