Canada Snowboard has entered into a partnership with sleep technology company Ozlo to support recovery and sleep consistency for athletes and staff across the Canadian National Snowboard Team program.
The collaboration comes as national team athletes continue to navigate extended travel schedules, frequent time-zone changes and varied accommodation environments throughout the competitive season. With months spent on the road between training camps and international competitions, sleep management has become an increasingly recognized component of high-performance preparation.
As part of the agreement, Ozlo will provide its Sleepbuds to national team athletes and key staff members during the 2026–2027 season. The devices are designed to block environmental noise and provide sleep data insights, with the aim of helping athletes maintain more consistent rest patterns while travelling.
“Sleep is one of the biggest performance levers we have, and it gets harder to protect when you’re living out of a suitcase,” said Chris Robanske, two-time Olympian and Canada Snowboard athlete alumni. “Athletes spend a huge part of the year on the road, moving between competition venues, changing time zones, and trying to recover quickly. Having a tool that can help block out noise and understand sleep patterns gives them a way to build consistency, even when everything around them is changing.”
Throughout the season, Canada Snowboard and Ozlo plan to highlight the role of sleep and recovery in high-performance sport, drawing attention to how consistent rest habits can influence long-term athlete health and competition readiness.
The partnership reflects a broader trend across elite sport, where recovery metrics — including sleep quality and consistency — are increasingly integrated into athlete performance strategies alongside physical training and sport-specific preparation.
