This year’s program will feature more than 150 sessions covering exercise science, coaching, nutrition, active aging, mental health, women’s health, technology, business development and emerging fitness trends.
Among the high-profile presenters is Louis van Amstel, ballroom dance world champion and former Dancing with the Starschoreographer, who will demonstrate how dance can be used as an effective full-body workout while helping participants move with greater confidence.
Canadian strongman and two-time World’s Strongest Man champion Mitchell Hooper will address men’s mental health and the importance of redefining strength to include resilience, community and the willingness to ask for help.
Other featured experts include Dr. Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, head of critical care at The Ottawa Hospital, who will share practical, evidence-based strategies related to prevention, sleep, stress and healthy lifestyle habits, and Tosca Reno, founder of the Eat-Clean movement, who will examine gut health, supplements, protein and the challenge of navigating conflicting nutrition advice.
Women’s health will also be part of the program, with pelvic health specialist Kim Vopni discussing how pelvic floor concerns can affect exercise participation and how fitness professionals can better support women in remaining active.
Rounding out the highlighted lineup, Alexis Perkins, founder of Chair One Fitness, will explore the growing demand for inclusive programming and how accessible movement options can help more people participate in fitness regardless of age or ability.
The canfitpro GLOBAL Conference & Trade Show takes place August 14–15 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, with pre-conference education beginning August 11. The event will also include a large trade show, live demonstrations, group fitness experiences and the new Business, Innovation & Leadership Summit for owners, operators and industry executives.
