ClassPass has released its 2025 Look Back Report, offering a data-driven snapshot of how people around the world moved, recovered, and prioritized wellbeing over the past year. Drawing on global reservation data from January 1 to October 10, 2025, the report shows strong momentum across both fitness and wellness categories, with fitness bookings up 36% year over year and wellness reservations rising 37%, reflecting a continued shift toward more holistic self-care routines.
Pilates Leads, Balance Follows
For the third consecutive year, Pilates was the most booked workout globally, with reservations up 66% year over year. Yoga, strength training, cycling, barre, and general gym time also remained among the top formats, underscoring the staying power of foundational training modalities. At the same time, ClassPass data shows growing interest in balance and recovery, with low-impact training (+112%), sports recovery (+155%), racquet sports (+111%), and postnatal programming (+77%) emerging as some of the fastest-growing categories worldwide.
When People Show Up to Work Out
March was the most active month globally, and Tuesday remained the most popular workout day across regions. Weekday workouts peaked at 6:00 p.m., while weekends favoured 10:00 a.m. Lunch-hour workouts also gained traction, with bookings between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. increasing 38% year over year. October 7 marked the busiest booking day of the year, with more than 200,000 reservations made worldwide in a single day. Despite high engagement, Sunday continued to be the least popular day to book workouts, reinforcing its role as a global rest day.
Wellness Becomes a Routine, Not a Treat
Massage once again topped the wellness category as the most-booked and most rebooked appointment globally. Sauna, facials, sports recovery, and spa treatments all saw strong growth, while stretching (+143%) and spa treatments (+77%) ranked among the fastest-growing wellness services. Sports recovery returned to the top 10 wellness bookings after a brief dip last year, highlighting the growing integration of recovery into regular fitness routines.
Community, Culture, and Connection
The report also points to the growing influence of community-driven fitness. New clubs on ClassPass continued to expand, with team sports and community-based workouts up 24% globally. HYROX emerged as a standout trend, with searches up 506% and reservations increasing 432% year over year. Pickleball further cemented its global appeal, with reservations rising 748% worldwide and over 1,100% in parts of APAC. Pop culture continued to shape studio programming, with nearly 30,000 Taylor Swift–themed classes booked in 2025, nearly double last year’s total.
Fueling, Recovery, and the Road Ahead
Beyond workouts and wellness services, food and beverage orders through ClassPass surged 121% year over year, reinforcing the platform’s evolution toward a more integrated lifestyle offering. Smoothies led globally, while coffee and sandwiches dominated in different regions. Taken together, the 2025 Look Back Report suggests that fitness consumers are increasingly seeking variety, balance, recovery, and connection—trends that are likely to continue shaping programming, scheduling, and service offerings as the industry moves into 2026.
