Falling Into Summer

Falling Into Summer

As we enjoy the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere things are heating up in the fitness industry! Is your summer programming setting you up to thrive in your career in the Fall?

Some of us are jumping right into some new routines with our clients and classes while others, especially those who kept going the past 15 months, and taking some much-needed rest.

For me, I’ve adapted my planning from 2 seasons-ahead to 1 season-ahead in order to stay agile and be truly adaptable to faster-moving changes and needs of my clients and partners. I thought I’d share my focus over the summer as it may help pique your interest for some new opportunities for yourself!

Summer Focus 1: New Places to Serve Clients

I’ve developed a thriving virtual business and am thrilled to serve my fitness career coaching clients, business and education partners, as well as Yoga, LIIT, and Medication clients online.

I’m also craving ways to connect with them in person and have identified some new opportunities both within and outside of traditional fitness clubs. One example:

Décathlon: this French fitness equipment and apparel brand opening stores all across Canada has Decadiums studios in their stores that host fitness coaches and classes for FREE! Trainers and instructors can offer an array of “activities” for the public based on availability, as long as they are certified and have liability insurance. I’ll be teaching classes on Thursday afternoons which I chose strategically based on foot traffic at the Brossard Mail Champlain location.

Summer Focus 2: Creating a Schedule That’s the Right Fit

I love the concept of work-life fit as opposed to work-life balance. Balance involves an “evenness” that doesn’t resonate with me, vs fit is ever evolving and accepting of change.

Like many of you I’ve been looking to serve as many people as possible since March 2020 which sometimes meant weeks or even months that were not the best fit for my goals. Summer is the perfect time for me to move things around to accommodate more optimal times for my fitness and family needs.

Summer Focus 3: Learning and Growth

I’m diving back into books and programs, and our pool of course this summer 😉. Using Focus 2 I’m blocking half-days to be able to immerse myself in learning so that I can keep growing my skills, my business, and my ability to serve you!

For more than 20 years summer learning for me has included canfitpro’s biggest event and this year is no different! We can access it virtually again this year from anywhere in the world and even choose to watch the recordings at a later date. If you’d like to join me you can use code PRES85 to be entered for a chance to win a prize pack + free registration to a 2022 canfitpro event! Click here for details and registration.
