Fitness Industry Council of Canada will host an upcoming webinar on Thursday, October 8, 2026, focused on British Columbia’s new Bill 4 consumer protection legislation, which took effect August 1.

The session is designed for B.C. fitness facility owners and operators looking to better understand how the updated rules may affect membership agreements, subscription contracts and other consumer-facing practices.

Speakers will include FIC President Sara Gilbert, Executive Director Zach Weston, Board Member Carl Ulmer, and Mike Collyer, Director with Consumer Protection BC.

Topics will include pre-contract disclosure requirements, contract terms, unfair practices, fitness and personal-services contracts, subscription agreements, business responsibilities, enforcement and potential penalties.

The webinar begins at 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern and is free for FIC members, with registration priced at $75 for non-members.
