Gold’s Gym Expands to Brazil with 60 New Locations Planned

Gold’s Gym has announced a master franchise agreement to open 60 locations in Brazil over the next 10 years, with the first sites slated for São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia beginning in 2026. The expansion is led by fitness industry veteran Dan Chor, co-founder of BodyTech, along with Felipe Frajhof, Washington Kasprzykowski, and Michel Amorim.

“I’m thrilled to bring this legendary fitness brand to Brazil — a country that truly breathes fitness and healthy living,” said Chor. “Gold’s Gym has a storied legacy, made famous by icons like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and we see an incredible opportunity to introduce a concept that combines performance, lifestyle and community in a way that resonates with Brazilian culture.”

The flagship location will feature a design inspired by Gold’s original Venice Beach “Mecca” with brick walls, wooden accents, and premium amenities including Olympic lifting platforms.

“Signing a master agreement for 60 new gyms in Brazil is the perfect 60th birthday present for Gold’s Gym,” said Kevin Christie, Vice President of Franchising. “Franchisees like Dan, Felipe, Washington and Michel know the power of the brand and will bring it to life in Brazil for those who want to fulfill their potential and reach their fitness goals.”

Gold’s Gym, part of the RSG Group since 2020, now has commitments for more than 200 new global locations. In Canada, the brand signed a 2024 development deal for 17 gyms in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with the first expected to open this year.
