On Saturday June 6th, Fitness Industry Canada will host a live YouTube stream of fitness classes coast to coast in support of National Health and Fitness Day. This is not only an opportunity to help get Canadians active that day and promote fitness in general, but it’s also a chance for the fitness industry to work together to speak directly to the public about how the pandemic has affected us and what we are doing to help Canadians stay healthy while we plan reopenings.
Throughout the broadcast there will be a variety of interviews and discussions about the impact of the pandemic on the fitness industry and all the work being done to get clubs open again in a safe way. There will be an emphasis on how fitness clubs and professionals need support from Canadians in the same way other local businesses have received support to get through this pandemic. Viewers will be urged to go to gympass.ca and find clubs in their area to see what kind of offers they have for people working out at home and as they reopen, so there is a chance for all fitness clubs in Canada to engage the people in their area. With reopenings starting in some places and still around the corner in others, it gives us a chance to help rebuild trust with the public on how the industry is collectively working hard to make sure we can do this in a safe and conscious way.
Even if your gym is not featured on the day of the broadcast, it is an opportunity to help get the message out about how the fitness industry is working together, how we need help from the public and their support, and how we are working to safely reopen. Please help support this by promoting the YouTube stream through your network. Together we can help the industry get people moving, back in the facilities, revenue going and help jumpstart things for everyone.
