High-intensity Signature Group Training program combines sprint intervals, strength, stability and balance as Life Time responds to growing member interest in efficient, performance-focused training.

Life Time is expanding its Ultra Fit training format across North America, adding more than 200 newly certified coaches and increasing class availability across its network of more than 195 athletic country clubs.
Created by Life Time founder, chairman and CEO Bahram Akradi, Ultra Fit is a coached Signature Group Training format that combines treadmill-based sprint intervals with strength, stability, balance and agility work. Sessions use equipment including dumbbells, resistance bands and BOSU balls, with intervals ranging from three-minute efforts to 15-second all-out sprints. Heart-rate and cadence guidance are incorporated to help members manage effort and recovery.
The company says demand for the format has increased over the past two years, with classes filling at higher rates and average class sizes growing. More than 200 additional Ultra Fit coaches have been certified since the beginning of 2026 as Life Time scales the program across its clubs.
Ultra Fit was originally developed in 2022, before the recent surge in interest around sprint interval training. The company positions the format as part of a broader portfolio of coached training programs that also includes Alpha, GTX, CTR and HYBRID XT.
Life Time says the program is attracting both performance-oriented members and those focused on metabolic health, healthy aging and longevity. The company also points to research suggesting sprint interval training can improve cardiorespiratory fitness efficiently while offering benefits for body composition and conditioning.
Canadian Presence
Life Time currently operates three clubs in Canada, all in Ontario, with locations in Ajax, Mississauga and Woodbridge.
The Canadian clubs follow Life Time’s large-format athletic country club model. For example, the Mississauga location spans approximately 146,000 square feet, while Ajax is approximately 127,000 square feet, with amenities extending beyond traditional fitness floors to pools, group exercise, recovery and other wellness offerings.
Life Time has not indicated whether every Canadian location will receive expanded Ultra Fit programming as part of the latest rollout, but the initiative is being positioned as a North American expansion across the company’s broader club network.
The move reflects continued interest among large fitness operators in combining structured coaching, shorter high-intensity intervals and measurable performance within scalable small-group training formats.
