REVL Training, the Australian-founded strength and conditioning franchise that has grown to more than 50 studios across multiple international markets, is officially entering the United States, with Florida identified as its first priority market.

Founded in 2020, REVL has expanded across Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan, building a global membership base of more than 12,000. The company says its five-year growth plan calls for more than 100 open studios across 10 countries and a membership base exceeding 20,000 by 2028.

The U.S. expansion represents the next stage in that strategy, with REVL actively seeking franchise partners including experienced operators, fitness entrepreneurs and multi-unit investors.

“Everyone thought we were crazy when we launched in June 2020; but what’s driven every decision since is an uncompromising belief in the product – the programming, the culture, and the standard,” said REVL co-founder Josh Mildren. “That belief is what’s taken us from four studios in Australia to 50+ across six countries.”

Structured Strength and Conditioning Model

REVL positions its model as an alternative to more traditional boutique group fitness formats, with programming built around periodised 13-week training blocks and defined sets, repetitions and percentages of one-repetition and three-repetition maximums.

The company reports member attrition of less than five per cent across its global network, with average studio membership above 200 and top-performing Australian locations surpassing 350 members.

Beyond its core training model, REVL has developed a proprietary competition and events ecosystem that includes Studio Games, REVL Pace, REVL Underground and Race The Globe. Its Singapore Race The Globe event attracted approximately 1,000 athletes earlier this year, while more than 700 were expected for the Brisbane edition in October.

The franchise model also includes programming systems, marketing infrastructure and Area Developer agreements, with the company emphasizing studio economics and operator profitability as central to its expansion strategy.

“We see REVL not just as a franchise but as a platform for ambitious operators,” said co-founder Ben Woolford. “Whether you’re launching your first studio or converting an existing brand, our goal is to give you the tools, data and community to build a long-term, profitable business.”

Canada Expansion Also Underway

While the current announcement centres on REVL’s U.S. entry, the company has confirmed exclusively to FitBizWeekly that its North American expansion will also include Canada.

REVL has signed its first Canadian franchise partner and says it is already in discussions with additional prospective franchisees, with locations across the Greater Toronto Area now under consideration.

“Signing our first Canadian franchise partner is a significant milestone for REVL, and it’s only the beginning,” Woolford told FitBizWeekly. “We’re already in active conversations with further prospective franchisees and are now looking at locations across the Greater Toronto Area.”

Woolford said REVL’s approach to expansion places considerable emphasis on individual studio economics before a location is secured.

“Our franchise model is built around studio profitability, not territory sales. Before a partner signs a lease, we’ve already modelled the build cost, class capacity and break-even, and we tailor the studio format to the site and the market,” he said.

He added that the company sees growing opportunity in Canada as structured, strength-focused training continues to gain momentum.

Mildren identified Toronto as an important market for establishing the brand in Canada.

“Toronto has a sophisticated, highly engaged fitness community, which makes it the right place to establish REVL in Canada,” he told FitBizWeekly. “The demand we’re seeing in the U.S. is just as strong across the border.”

Mildren said Canadian locations will be expected to follow the same coaching, programming and studio standards used throughout REVL’s international network.

“A REVL studio should feel like REVL whether you’re in Sydney, Singapore or Toronto.”

REVL currently reports more than 80 franchise territories sold globally, with its broader expansion plans targeting more than 100 studios by 2028.
