The IHRSA Foundation is working with the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation to learn more about fitness industry professionals’ perspectives about the role of the fitness industry in impacting mental health. We want to hear from you through a 10-minute survey on this topic.
This survey is part of a larger project to develop resources for fitness industry professionals to support them in addressing mental health in fitness centres. By taking this survey, you are consenting to participate in research to help us learn more about mental health in the fitness club space.
What is the purpose of the research?
These surveys will help us understand the current knowledge and awareness of fitness industry professionals around the associations between mental health and physical activity/exercise, as well as fitness industry professionals’ attitudes and perspectives with respect to the role of the health and fitness club industry in impacting mental health.
What do I have to do to participate?
You are being asked to take this survey, as well as a follow-up survey. Between the surveys, you will be provided a toolkit and other resources developed as part of this project, and will be asked to review them before taking the follow up survey.
What will be done with the results?
Aggregated results from this survey will be used to inform education materials and will be shared publicly on ihrsafoundation.org. No survey responses will be attributed to any individuals by name, and the research results will only be shared in aggregate.
Fitness Industry Canada will collect the Canadian data and apply it to our lobbying and advocacy efforts.
